Sonoma Valley Vineyards

We started our travels thru Wine Country with a stop at Whole Foods. After stocking up on required wine tasting snacks we headed to the Russian River area to enjoy wineries that Tommy set up for us and had a private tasting at J Vineyard. We all enjoyed a rare opportunity to see recently picked grapes being processed on conveyor belts. After more wine we walked out to the vineyard & explored the rest of the operation. We then headed over to Emeritus Vineyard for another Vineyard tour & wine tasting. We tasted some grapes on the vine that were very sweet. We then were able to experience another rare view of the "cake". This is the leftover skins & seeds. They compost this back into the Vineyard. After more wine & snacks we headed to Alexander Valley's Hanna Vineyard. We had more wine and a nice cheese plate. We decided we had enough wine and headed for some Mexican Food. I think we are all caught up with our blogs(3) Tommy leaves tomorrow & the rest of us head to Yosemite for a few days. Will blog when we return.
